The new season!

It has been a few days since my last blog post. The simple reason for my absences is that I have been super busy. Move-in day is quickly approaching, and I have been trying to have everything packed and ready to go. With school beginning soon, it signifies the end of summer. This means that another season has come and gone. Summer was filled with disappointments, stress, and misfortune. However, it was not all bad; I continued on my journey of spirituality: I meditated, read, studied, wrote, and created this blog. I learned how to handle stress better and to not see disappointments, stress, and misfortune as negatives but to see them as the blessings that they are.

The negative in life can hinder one from all the positive things that life can bring. If I had focused on life’s negative pieces, I probably would never have experienced the positive. I know that I would have never seen the blessing amid my storm. My summer was not what I expected, but it was filled with many beautiful memories, laughter, and pure joy. I had to teach myself that if I give negativity, I get negativity. I learned a great lesson about seasons, though it may be a cliché. I learned that seasons are just that- seasons. They come, and they go; they are temporary. I learned that I have to use my season and be productive in them. It may not have brought me what I wanted, but it is all I have, and I must use it. I have to build and grow with what I have. I cannot sit around and wait for another season because, with every season, there is a purpose. I have to accomplish what God wants me to do in that season.

As stated earlier, seasons are temporary. This means when one season ends, another begins. The new season will bring new purpose, new promise, new processes, and new problems. We get new tasks to challenge ourselves. With new seasons we have the possibility for proactivity, but there is also the possibility for negativity. We are in control of which way our seasons go. We have no control over many things that happen to us.

Nonetheless, we have control over our response to those problems. We have to turn those adverse life events into positive blessings. This will allow us to do something I always say,” To be our best and do our best in our season.” Though your season may not be what you expected, don’t let it fail you.

Until next time:

Let God’s light shine within you and through you!

I am who I say I am. The previous statement is a simple declaration of the power I have from being set free from the confines of who people wanted me to be. Today we are so consumed with how we want those around us to perceive our existence that we are not keenly aware of who we are and the value of our existence, our contributions, and our power. It is my life’s mission to allow those around me to come into their full existence and to make them understand that they matter. Through this site, I hope something touches you and makes you understand that you matter. Once you believe that you matter share your testimony so those around you will understand that they matter. Let’s continue to share until we are all liberated.
