The winter turns into spring – eventually!

At the beginning of March, it seemed that spring would never arrive. It was miserable to see snow on the ground in March in the South; that is almost unheard of. Winter was draining me; I felt down most of the days. I was extremely tired of the cold weather. This past winter was brutal, from the record low to temperatures to record snowfall. The days were extremely short, and many were dark and messy. I thought that spring would never arrive, and if it did arrive, it would also be miserable. I did not think I would ever feel the warm spring weather, have those long beautiful days, be kissed by the sun, or enjoy the Carolina Blue (you know, I had to say it) sky. However, God blessed us with a miracle, and the weather changed drastically. This helped me learn a valuable life lesson – life has its share of brutal winters, but eventually, spring will come.

We all have those seasons of winter. It’s those days when we don’t know if we can go on because life is miserable for us. Those days where it seems that our days are short and filled with darkness, and it feels that the sun will never shine. Those days are extremely cold and filled with pain. Those days when there is no visible sign of life because everything around us seems dead or in hibernation. It seems endless, and just when we start to see some viable signs that winter is coming to a close, we are quickly reminded otherwise. Your spring seems to never come; it’s a lonely feeling. In these times, we may want to give up. However, I learned in these times, we shouldn’t give up. These are times when we just have to hold on and pray that spring will come eventually. It s important to hold on to hope because once winter is over comes the marvelousness of spring.

Spring is a time of growth and revitalization. This is when everything that lay dormant during the winter begins to come to life, and many partake in spring cleaning and reclaiming everything that winter took. Spring is a time of growth and change. Life works similarly. After we have those days that seem they will never end, after those days that are unbearable, after those days of heartaches and headaches, there comes a change. We begin to see changes around us; we see situations and things that we thought were dead come back to life. We began to understand that winter was not the end but was a process to get us to the beginning of our spring. Sometimes our winters are longer than we would have wanted or expected, but we have to understand that nothing last forever and that winter will have to end at some point, and spring will eventually have to come. This is just the natural progression of life. In our life, we will have those days that seem like they will break us, but on those days, we need to remember that they can’t always last. Eventually, they will have to come to an end and better will come because it is just the natural progression of life. In those times of sorrow, pain, hurt, rain, failure, loneliness, darkness, and despair, it is essential to remember that it is only a season, and growth, triumph, success, happiness, peace, tranquility, and pure joy will soon come.

Until next time:

Let God’s light shine within you and through you!

I am who I say I am. The previous statement is a simple declaration of the power I have from being set free from the confines of who people wanted me to be. Today we are so consumed with how we want those around us to perceive our existence that we are not keenly aware of who we are and the value of our existence, our contributions, and our power. It is my life’s mission to allow those around me to come into their full existence and to make them understand that they matter. Through this site, I hope something touches you and makes you understand that you matter. Once you believe that you matter share your testimony so those around you will understand that they matter. Let’s continue to share until we are all liberated.
